In depth study of Mindfulness and the Body

 

In this 10 week course which meets weekly for 90 minutes, participant will take a deep dive into the workings of the mind body connection.  Using Mindfulness based meditation techniques and the Rolf method of structural integration this course aims to unwind physical patterns in the body and trains the individual to see and transform mental patterns.

 

In this course participants will learn to: 

  • Meditate for 45 minutes.

  • Develop tools for mindful communication.

  • Cultivate insight into personal patterns, and recognize places of personal challenge.

  • Develop a relationship to their physical body through the means of bodywork

  • Begin to understand and "hear" the voice of the inner critic, and cultivate kindness and compassion towards oneself and others.

 

Participants will be encouraged to come up with their own goals and challenges to meet through these ten sessions, and will be given assignments, readings, and body exercises to further and deepen the process.  Participants will be challenged to meditate daily during these ten weeks and will keep a meditation log  and journal for review.

 

*This training is a time of deep inquiry and participants may be asked to abstain from certain activities (alcohol, drugs, sex, etc.) during this period of study. Participants should consider all of this carefully, as making the decision to commit to this type of training should not be taken lightly.
